well, i guess this will be the menuetos32 forum from now on... Well... lets keep it up, and now, something important... the oficial 32 bit distro is the 0.79 or it's the Kolibri Distro... my opinion, and remember that it is just an opinion, is that the new oficial OS should be Kolibri.... it's menuetos based and it's actively developed... I think that the menuetos community should support the Kolibri OS... it is menuetos but optimized... well.... i hear your suggestions :)

May be this is a good time to think about a basic redesign ?. ps: forum looks good 8)

I was thinking that the whole redesign of menuetos was made by the russian team, and the Kolibri OS... so there is a lot of work already made... I don't have anything against the russian team, so I propose to make the KolibriOS the official distro, and suport it :)

well ... i agree with everybody here ... 1- I can't afford a 64 Bits Computer... 2- I don't like closed software ... 3- Forums look very cool 8) ... I think that Menuet 0.79 should be the official distro, and kolibrioOS should be the "most official" distro in second place ... we should add to Menuet32 All the good thing added by others ... one solid kernel with all the adds will make it much more better !...

I think Menuet needs a rewrite, kolibrioOS is a Russian team rewrite, they did a great job, but its there baby. You need to sort out what is needed for menuet to work as a useable desktop and go for it, a rewrite is not that hard or time consuming, look at menuet64 its just a rewrite of menuet32 with the reg changed and bits that different for 64bit Cpu etc. You need to rewrite menuet and concentrate on make it simple, to use and program for. To me this may not look as good as menuet: http://qnx.projektas.lt/qnxdemo/qnx_demo_disk.htm But if you added floppy, Hdd, atapi driver it would be a useable OS, thats why the rewrite is needed, to make it useable. By rewrite, I do not mean rewrite everything. I as a ASM programmer need a ASM desktop OS, i have all ways seen menuet as that, OS.

Hi there! There always was some kind of disrespect from both sides I suppose. We're all people and it's so hard to find a golden middle. Talking about M64, I understand why Ville made it closed-source, but I also know that he isn't the only one working on it (don't you know how hard is it to write whole OS by yourself? Ville already has such experience, now it's time to work in team and create not only sth running, but sth useful). I personally have no 64-bit PC as almost everyone inthere so I'm staying with M32, and I'd stay even if I had. And, talking about M32/Kolibri, I'd prefer Kolibri. Not because I'm Russian, but because there's no way back already. Spending time on improving M32 up to Kolibri level, or simply jumping to Kolibri? The answer is obvious. If some of you experience problems communicating with some Russians, just talk with me. I've never been against and always opened for such conversation. Develop applications, kernel, let know about your expectancies and light ideas! We need people who can DO and not only TALK. Main word from now on should be together.
