We need to ban swear words and personal insults, but we need to listen every bodies opinion. This is the s**t we are going to get, he has obversely not read my input as 1. i say a name change is a must. 2. I have been pushing for less layers between program and hardware. 3. I have said we need a rewrite with no Menuet code, but to have the same function calls etc. This is because if we do a great job, people like that will say its just menuet code, if we do a s**t job, then they say its our code. So the OS i propose will be a all new one, but with the function of replacing MenuetOS as the ASM programmer desktop.

Somebody make a menuet media center edition.. There's an idea.. :? :D

hidnplayr- 04-30-2006

we would first need things like a all-in-one image viewer, mediaplayer, better audio support,... before we can make a real media center edition right?

Dex- 05-01-2006

@jason.b.c, Yes as it will be able to run menuet programs ( as i will implement int 40h), i will post info, if people do not object. @hidnplayr, when i made the sound drivers, many moons ago, the only AC97 that i could not get working was the via ac97, but i have a test pc with a onboard sys, so am going to try again (i know a little more now).

Here is a ISO, for people without floppy drives, for testing Menuet4U MediaPlayer. http://www.dex4u.com/code/DexISO.zip Note: The above ISO is for people without floppys, so when reading A: drive, its reading the floppy boot image. Needs vesa2, and hdd is for fat32 only at the moment.

I thought that since menuet had such an extensive ( and cool ) gui that a preaty cool router could be made, that freesco thing is really good and all but no real desktop environment for configoration and things.. Yea your right "support".. well here's an ethernet card that could be used for just such a thing:> www.routerboard.com/rb44.html :P
