problem with iso file system
Kolibri can't read "el torito" cd-rom i've made a iso with mkisofs, and have burn it. windows can read the cd, but not kolibri.... maybe a bug with this format of bootable cdroms

hidnplayr- 02-10-2007

I have been able to read el-torito cd's so that should not be the problem, what specific mode/filesystem etc did you use?

trolly- 02-10-2007

i dont know,... normaly it is a iso9660 filesystem i've created the cdrom with mkisofs under windows: mkisofs -o cdrom.iso -b bootimg.bin -c bootcat.bin cdrom then i've burn it

trolly If you may - give me the archive with sectors 0-100. Take the sectors CD with the help of WinHex possible or like program. I be try to study the problem. Also I want to note that I have not realized support multi session disk - on such disk will be read only first session, all following files will not are seen.

I'm renamed sectors.bin in sectors.iso and has written with the Nero. Kolibri without problems read this disk. You are sure, what you have put the data for not reading disk in Kolibri? In file sectors.bin there is a string «NERO BURNING ROM» - many repeated. And next time compress please files with the 7Zip. sectors.bin after compression has a size 30Kb instead of not compressed 200Kb.

i see in the svn server "iso9660 bugfix" but the problem isn't fixed, it can always not read the cd ps, my webhost ist close, if you want the sectors goto http://xmenuetos.0nyx.com/sectors.7z

At this CD there is only «main descriptor of partition», which contains all names and paths of files in ASCII format. Such contents are old variant of the standard ISO9660. At the majority of modern disks is present «Additional and improved descriptor of partition», which contains all names and paths in Unicode format. When I develop driver ISO9660, I was oriented on Unicode. If the strong necessity will appear to finish the driver, for usage of such disks I can it make. However to write the code because of one disk there is no practical advantage, as it is necessary to changed more than 50 % of the code of the driver ISO9660.

was is the command (on linux) to make a unicode iso file?
